Rob and Josh are both Graduates of Drexel University’s 2+4 Bachelor of Architecture program, where Josh was awarded The Michael Pearson Architecture Prize gold medal for his Thesis, Reimagining Philadelphia's Reading Viaduct. Drexel required us to work while concurrently attending night classes. Beginning our careers while attending school afforded us the creative freedom to dream, and helped establish our approach to practicing Architecture - balancing the pragmatic and the idealistic.
JBA believes architects should facilitate as much as they create, listening to a client’s functional requirements and aspirations while working towards an engaging, thoughtful design. We strive to design long-lived buildings that remain useful for decades through careful detailing, building system design, and material selections. Many of our favorite projects have reimagined existing structures by renovating, restoring, or adding to them.
