We worked with ReAnimator to design their first cafe in Fishtown, converted from a flower shop. Existing flower cases and sections of bowling alley floor left in the space by the previous tenants were salvaged and incorporated into the design. The design reinforces the distinctive triangular shape of the building by consolidating all of the functional spaces at the back of the cafe near existing infrastructure, while the narrow front area remains open for seating. The Neighbors Association and Zoning Board approved of proposed signage, lighting, and outdoor seating based upon our renderings. Later we created a plan to guide the build effort for ReAnimator’s Kensington cafe & coffee roastery and documented their interim roasting facility for Health Department approval.
