Schooner Cove

(Lead Designer, with James Bradberry Architects)

Schooner Cove is an early learning environment within the Havre de Grace Public Library’s Children’s Section. It is low-tech by design, permeated with manually operated interactive activities using magnets, pulleys, cranks, and spyglasses. The Chesapeake Bay serves as inspiration for the venues, including a schooner with tiered risers emerging from its hull for storytime, a hydroelectric dam with a kid-built shad ladder, an ecological ranger station, and a shipping game. We specified all finishes, paint colors, and designed each graphic asset. This complex project required extensive supervision and coordination during fabrication and installation.
